Damp-Proofing
If your basement feels damp or has a musty smell it most likely
means you have moisture and possibly water penetrating your
foundation walls. If you have a finished basement you may or may
not notice visible signs of mold on your drywall or baseboards
however that doesn’t mean mold has not developed on the other
side. In most cases when the drywall/baseboard is removed mold
is found to be growing on the back sides as well as on the wood
studs.
There are no real over-the-counter remedies for damp-proofing a
basement even though your local renovation store will sell
“paint on” type damp-proofing or mold and mildew preventing
products that do more harm than good. To properly address your
problem call PCS for a free consultation on how we can help
alleviate the dampness in your basement.
